1. Who is responsible for your personal information
The expodesign.ca website and the Expo Design event are operated by:

In this policy, “we” refers to that company. It determines the purposes for which your personal information is collected and used, and it is responsible for that information under Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.

3. The information we collect
3.1 When you browse the website
Our website uses cookies and audience measurement technologies. No measurement, location or profiling tool is activated before you have consented through the consent window shown when you arrive.
If you consent, Google Analytics collects technical information about your visit: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, time spent, and the site you came from. We use this to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
If you decline, these tools are not activated and the site remains fully functional.
Some embedded content — notably videos hosted on Vimeo — loads only after you consent, since the provider may set its own cookies.

3.2 When you register for the event
Registration for Expo Design is handled through a form hosted by PairConnex, an external service provider. When you click the registration button, you leave expodesign.ca and are directed to the PairConnex platform.
The information collected at that step is:
- your first and last name
- your email address
- your mobile phone number
This information is collected on our behalf. It is used to process your registration, send you practical information about the event (schedule, access, changes), and contact you if necessary before or during the event.
PairConnex acts as a service provider and may not use this information for its own purposes. Processing carried out on its platform is also governed by its own privacy policy.
3.3 When you subscribe to the newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and language preference, for the sole purpose of sending you news about Expo Design.
Every message includes an unsubscribe link. You may unsubscribe at any time, without giving a reason, and doing so does not affect your event registration.
4. What we use your information for

We do not use your information for other purposes without informing you and, where the law requires it, without obtaining your consent.
5. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share registration or subscriber lists with our exhibitors or sponsors.
- We make no decision about you based exclusively on automated processing.
- We do not knowingly collect information from people under 14 years of age.
6. Who we share your information with
We disclose your information only:
- to our service providers, strictly as needed to carry out their mandate — notably PairConnex for registration management, our web host, and Google for audience measurement where you have consented;
- to members of our organization who need access in the course of their duties;
- where the law requires it, or to assert our rights.
Our service providers are required to protect the information entrusted to them and to use it only for the purposes for which it was provided.
7. Disclosure outside Quebec
Some of our service providers may host or process information outside Quebec. This is notably the case for Google, whose audience measurement services operate from abroad.
Before entrusting personal information to a provider located outside Quebec, we assess whether the information would receive adequate protection there, taking into account its sensitivity, the purposes for which it is to be used, the protection measures it would be afforded, and the legal framework applicable in that jurisdiction.
To find out where a particular piece of information is processed, write to the officer named in section 2.
8. How long we keep it
We keep information related to a registration for two years following the event, after which it is destroyed or anonymized.
Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, then removed from our mailing lists.
Cookies placed on your device each have their own lifespan, set out in the cookie policy.
9. Your rights
Quebec law gives you the following rights over your personal information:
- Access — obtain confirmation that we hold information about you, and receive a copy of it.
- Correction — have inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous information corrected.
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw at any time a consent you have given us, notably for audience measurement cookies or the newsletter.
- Portability — receive, in a structured and commonly used technological format, the computerized information you provided to us.
- De-indexing — request that dissemination of information about you cease, or that a hyperlink giving access to it be de-indexed, where the law allows.
- Complaint — file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec if you believe your rights have not been respected.
To exercise any of these rights, write to the officer named in section 2. We will respond within 30 days of receiving your request. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on it.

10. How we protect your information
We take reasonable measures to protect your information against loss, theft, unauthorized access and disclosure: encrypted transmission of site pages, access limited to those who need it, and protection requirements imposed on our service providers.
No system is perfectly secure. Should a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury occur, we would notify the individuals concerned and the Commission d’accès à l’information as required by law, and the incident would be recorded in our register of confidentiality incidents.
11. Links to other sites
Our site contains links to third-party sites, notably our registration platform and those of our exhibitors and partners. This policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review their own privacy policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may amend this policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with its update date. If a significant change affects information already collected, we will take reasonable steps to inform you.
